Welcome to Lanikea Networks!
It’s been a long time coming but we are finally starting to unfold at great things Lanikea Networks. Oh…I almost forgot to introduce myself, I’m Horace “Trey” Lanier. I am the Creative Director and Proprietor of Lanikea Networks and I would like to welcome you the innovative imagination of dreamers, designers, and artist. I’m excited to share this journey with you and my hope is Lanikea Networks will become not only your destination for design services, but a reference for your business endeavors as well.
So, people often asks me, “what does Lanikea mean?”
Lanikea has a lot of meanings, but I’ll give you the nutshell of our brands philosophy: Outside of work, I spend my spare time reading about, well…anything really, but one day in particular, I stumbled across an article that caught my attention. This particular article written by scientists explained how our solar system is apart of a major supercluster of galaxies known as The Laniakea Supercluster. Laniakea (which means: immeasurable heavens) is a network of over 100,000 known galaxies, categorized into clusters that help astronomers map Earth’s position in the universe.
While reading the article I imagined myself as a small grain of sand in a desert of dunes, and as time passed I found it difficult to erase that analogy from my mind. After days of thinking, I realized how often businesses and individuals refer to the internet to find their place in our own World. To impress themselves onto a planet of 7 billion minds, to make infinite connection, or to harvest the immense amounts of data it provides. Just as The Laniakea Supercluster is home to thousands of galaxies, I wanted Lanikea Networks is a hub for visionaries, dreamers, and artist alike. A gateway to broadcast businesses and individuals to the ever evolving World of media.
We’ll talk more about this later but you may have noticed a slight spin on the typography from Laniakea to Lanikea I did this for 2 reasons. 1 – Since my last name is Lanier, I decided to personalize a little and scale down Laniakea to create Lanikea. 2 – I did this for marketing and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) reasons. Do you remember when Google first appeared on the scene? Everyone was like “What’s a Google?!” Fast-forward 15 years, you can’t help but notice Google’s name everywhere. That was part of the idea with Lanikea. When starting a new business venture, don’t be afraid to pick a creative title. If your clients used a search engine to find your business and typed “Johnny Appleseed’s Bookstore” I’m sure you could imagine how many companies are going to relate to that title. What if your clients searched “Balabba Books”….Ahh! It’s all starting to make sense now huh?! This type of branding depends on the style of business you are bringing to the market. In many cases; however, it is an effective marketing tool to get a buzz started. We’ll explain this in more details in further blogs but these topics are just one of many thought processes we perform at Lanikea Networks. We don’t just throw stuff together and send you on your way, we work to build a level of trust with our clients to help them through their entire process project.
On the horizon, we have some great things in store. I will write most of the blogs but, I will have the occasional guest bloggers to write about interesting topics that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
Project wise, we are on a roll! I am premiering several major projects before the end of 2015 and I can’t wait. Right Now, we are propelling through 5 different projects set to launch before the ball drops on December 31st, and 2 of those projects are scratch build brands developed completely in-house at Lanikea Networks. I’m so excited I could scream!
Welcome to Visual Engineering.
